Local Organizing Connection

The studio venue was coordinated by the Local Organizing Committee from Disability Studies in Nederland (DSiN), working alongside the Programme Committee to deliver a hybrid congress experience for the Value Diversity programme.

The choice of Amsterdam as the host city for the 6th IASSIDD Europe Congress was deeply fitting for a gathering centered on the theme of Value Diversity. Known historically as a crossroads of cultures and a place where difference has long been accommodated, the city provided a symbolic backdrop for discussions on intellectual and developmental disabilities. The studio venue selected for the physical component of the congress was designed to bridge two worlds: it hosted live sessions with on-site attendees while seamlessly connecting to participants joining virtually from across Europe and beyond. This hybrid format itself embodied the congress theme, demonstrating how accessibility and inclusion can be built into the very structure of how we come together to share knowledge, debate ideas, and envision a future where every person is valued.
